The Simple Woman's Daybook {October Edition}

For Today

Looking out my window... and thinking of that upcoming week at the lake this month. SO glad it has turned into a twice a year retreat time for the girls and I.

 {fall retreat 2016}

I am thinking...I am not sure which is best, the morning light or that of late afternoon.

I am thankful... for the Word of God.

One of my favorite things... these new highlighters and guide from The Daily Grace Co. They do not bleed through my Bible pages!

I am wearing... comfy clothes for my mat work

I am creating... a few mini quilts and a penny rug.

I am watching... the new season of Poldark.

I am reading...

*Remember in last month's daybook edition I mentioned this book?

I had bought an extra copy and this month we have a winner! Congratulations to Barbara over at Through the Hard Times blog! I am so happy for you, Barbara!
(Thank you to my son, Samuel who drew the name)

The below picture of books are all nearly sent to the winners of the book give-away I held over on my fb page. Sadly, not many took part, but the ladies who did, will receive them freely with blessings from me.

I am listening to... the news and deeply grieving.

In the garden... soil that has been loosened and turned over for another year.

I am hoping... to take advantage of next year's Stampington & Co. back issue sale as well! I filled in the gaps with some missed issues. They are already packed for our retreat!

I am learning... how nice it is to look back over my paper cut journey pages, this was one of the first I created.

In the kitchen... Thinking soups and muffins.

A moment from my day... I sure will miss gathering bouquets of these beauties.

  4. I am such a huge Poldark fan... the first episode for season 3 was awesome! PBS is my go to for great drama these days.

    I also read the book Overwhelmed and it was fantastic. I tried to get into the Whispers of Rest but it was just not my thing. She is a lovely woman, though.

    Your sunflowers are stunning!

  10. I am such a fan of Poldark! I do have some catching up to do. Our first frost took the Cosmos from our yard. They were the last flowers to hang on. I miss their cheery pink and white greeting. I'm going to have to look into those highlighters you mentioned! I pray your October has been full of wonderful moments. Thank you for sharing this glimpse with us.
